Upon joining Faith-G Finance as Network Administrator, I identified a critical communication gap causing frequent customer complaints due to the absence of a proper telephone system. I developed and presented a comprehensive proposal for implementing a complete PBX telephone system integrated with full LAN infrastructure upgrade, which was approved with a K50,000 budget. Leveraging my established relationships with multiple Internet Service Providers across Port Moresby, I strategically negotiated competitive rates and sourced quality equipment, successfully reducing the project cost to K25,000—achieving 50% cost savings while maintaining high standards. I engaged Telikom PNG Limited as the company's primary Voice and Internet Service Provider and oversaw the deployment of all infrastructure components including managed network switches, enterprise-grade router with QoS capabilities, structured Cat6 cabling, network patch panels, IP-based PBX system, VoIP desk phones, UPS units, network racks, and complete installation materials.
The implementation provided invaluable hands-on experience as I worked closely with Telikom PNG's network engineers during service line configuration and PBX setup, gaining deep technical knowledge of telephone system architecture, VoIP protocols, carrier integration, and voice quality optimization. The project delivered transformative results: customer complaints were completely eliminated, internal communication efficiency improved dramatically, and the customer service department gained professional call handling capabilities. Beyond operational improvements, the 50% cost savings demonstrated strong fiscal management, while the scalable infrastructure positioned the company for future growth. This project showcased my ability to identify business-critical issues, develop cost-effective solutions, manage vendor relationships, and deliver measurable results that directly impact customer satisfaction and organizational efficiency.
